History:
In 2010, Club Deprotivo Marathon become the first team in Honduras to own and play in it's own stadium when the team moved to the 15,000 seat Estadio Yankel Rosenthal.

Marathon's derby matches with cross town rivals are commonly referred to as El Classico Nacional.

Marathon has many nicknames refering to their green colored uniforms: El Monstruo Verde, Los Panzas Verdes, Verdolagas, Esmeraldas and Sinfonia Verde.
